You can train in automatic for free or if you want to pay the small extra cost you can train in manual.

A few years ago I needed some supplies for a improvement project for one of my rental units. The local stores did not have exactly what I wanted, but they did have an inferior alternative at almost the same cost.

I had a choice - I could drive out of town to find what I wanted. This however would dramatically increase the cost. Option 2 is delay the project, not ideal as the unit would sit vacant too long. Finally option 3 - use the inferior product and plan on replacing in a few years. I ran the numbers and option 3 came up as the best choice. Not what I wanted, and the total cost is higher than it should have been, but the job got done.

Notice there was no "give up" option.

Go to a cdl school and make an arrangement. It is not that hard.

Only about five percent of those that get cold me it past the first year, you will not be one of them.

Even if you could get a Cdl unrestricted you would quit or roll the truck before even getting off probation.

Evergreenapple, you convinced me. Your “dream” of being a CDL holder is not gonna happen. You’ll get no argument out of me.

There, now 2 people have given good advice. You’re welcome.

Ok cool, that's a start. It will take some time to get approved for that scholarship/grant, I'd find a job like an aforementioned post said, first. Then apply for that scholarship, and by the time you get approved, you'll have some money stashed up. Also, don't worry about an automatic restriction. You can always go back and do a refresher course somewhere. If you're able to go to work, do it

And as I always say, wait one hour before going back to your truck after eating at Petro, TA, or Flying J. I violated my own advice in Rochelle, IL at the Petro there.
