Yes, the Second Amendment was violated 150 years ago grossly by local jurisdictions. Stealing and rape and murder have been going on even before the bible.

People are a lot happier over there I guess. I saw somewhere where it was either Switzerland or Finland that was ranked the happiest country. I don't know how they measure that....but Americans are some pretty ####ing angry people. I measured that with my own eyes. My theory is that people have an inability to accept their lot in life. Americans are always looking for the next big thing, trying to achieve something, even if at times it's unachievable. Don't get it twisted, I am not saying there is anything wrong with bettering yourself. I just don't understand someone trying out for American Idol and they have no singing talent, you know? Then there's this prototype that everyone tries to follow, that thing called the American Dream. I don't really know what that is for real, especially since there is no one way for someone to make a living or achieve success. It's like, when people realize how hard it is to get there, or their dreams go up in smoke, or they're forced to a different path in life, then so many bad things happen, not limited to mass shootings and suicides. This hated for life takes over, as opposed to just playing the cards you're dealt. I sometimes think the happiest people can make chicken salad out of chicken ####....making whatever situation work. Those folks gotta realize we all can't be millionaires and the works. I'm a "thousandaire" and I'm cool with it. Many Americans covet too much and I think that contributes to the unhappiness and the state of our country.

What is more deadly, a man with a rifle in his gun safe or your local Mcdonald's? Think very carefully before you answer that question!

    This man was! LINK.

An Indiana woman was charged with murder after she allegedly followed a man she said was her boyfriend to a bar using an Apple AirTag, accused him of cheating on her and proceeded to intentionally run him over with her car, court documents show.
"I’m quite sure, since this is a pub and grill and it is late at night, that there are quite a few people who were here that left the scene because they didn’t want to get involved," Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Don Weilhammer said of the incident, according to WISH. "This is where we do need them to get involved, and call us, and get us any information they saw regarding this."
Gaylyn Morris, 26, was arrested early Friday after reportedly following Andre Smith to Tilly’s Pub in Indianapolis by using an Apple AirTag and GPS.
Morris told a witness that she was Smith’s girlfriend and that he was cheating on her, according to investigators. Morris told the witness she was going to use an empty wine bottle to beat up the other woman.
The confrontation escalated when Morris swung the bottle at the woman, but the attack was intercepted by Smith, according to an affidavit
Employees of the bar then asked the trio to leave the establishment, the Indy Star reported. A witness recounted that’s when Morris allegedly attacked Smith with her car.
Morris "pulled forward and clipped the victim (Smith), and he went down, at which time... (Morris) then backed over him and then pulled forward and hit him for the third time," the probable cause affidavit stated.
Morris allegedly got out of the car and then tried to go after the other woman, who was still in the pub waiting for a food order, but police soon arrived on the scene.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office determined Smith died as a result of being intentionally run over.
Morris was charged with murder, but Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will determine final charges, the Indy Star reported.

I am not making fun of people being killed. This is not funny. But look at this BBC article from 2019. Look at what happened in Charlottesville a while back. We already have several examples of people using vehicles to kill. Remember the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies?????

Okay, again, it's clear, we're all upset, and this is spiraling above what TTR should allow. Don't get me wrong, it's probably THE most important topic today, just not really a trucking issue, anymore, more of a society issue, that can't be solved here. It's obvious, we all want to talk about it, and TTR just happens to have some of the most intelligent people( me not included) and to kind of circle back, truck drivers are probably the most informed people in our country, as we see life on a bigger scale than most. I heard, gun control will have the same effect as the failed drug policy. Drugs, like guns, are easy to get, and I agree, keeping guns out of the hands of responsible people, won't solve a thing. 1st of all, Americans simply won't give up their guns,, and people will still be able to get them, from a host of sources,, and use them for these heinous, to us, crimes.
Someone said at 67, this is all MY fault, and I tend to disagree. I still upheld many of my parents values, allowed some computer games and such, but did REAL things with my kids. Camping, canoeing, winter sports, and they enjoy that to this day and are successful. More importantly, they don't want to kill anyone. It was, however, the beginning, as the family "unit" broke up, again, for a multitude of reasons, and it was the next generation, our kids kids, that became neglected, and why video games, became so popular. It was a way of leaving their bored life behind. Naturally, to retain interest, video games became more violent, and a false image of life was portrayed, and since these kids have nothing else to go by, they think they can carry out these crimes with no consequence. There's no "replay" button in life.
History has shown, these "times" tend to burn themselves out, with dire results, unfortunately. I think( hope) we'll go back to simpler times, we obviously can't go on like this. Americans are a PROUD people, collectively, we fought for what we have today. Not to be blunt, but it's obvious why nobody "F's" with America. And yes, many HAVE made "IT", but the ones that didn't, not necessarily their fault, feel cheated, and the ones that do have money, won't give that up. Not to start an "ism" thread, but it's the nature of Capitolism, with no controls, the rich will get richer, and will justify the need for their OWN protection. We're the most heavily armed people in the world, it's worth that much. The "poor" ones, feeling there's no other option, want a piece of that action, and through any means. Can't win, folks, we just can't win here.

    Yep
What the media will NEVER mention is that every single one of these shooters has a family issue .
    Where’s the father ?

and every single one has been taking psychotropic drugs for ADD or whatever .
The news will not report this because it doesn’t help their goal of disarming normal Americans .

and am I the only one that’s noticed that when a unarmed black kid gets shot by a cop the problem is never the gun?
The problem is always the person with the gun .

but when it’s a mass shooter , the problem is NEVER the person , the problem is always the gun.

kinda odd don’t you think ?

also there’s not been a shooting at a private school . Weird huh ?
    Why is that ?
One thing for sure , you will never hear people from a certain political leanings, encourage school choice and vouchers .

is it because parents that care about their kids find a way to send them to a private school ?

is it because the kids are not FORCED to attend that school ?

the law FORCES kids to attend schools they hate ,

i hated school and wanted to drop it but you can’t .
In my state if you drop out the state revokes your drivers license .

in my state you couldn’t drop out and take the GED

you couldn’t take the GED until you were 21 .

the govt wanted to make very sure that you couldn’t drop out of a school you hated and were forced to attend like serving a prison sentence .
Speaking of 21 , if under 21 is not mature enough to buy a rifle or beer , why are under 21 allowed to vote ?
And why are under my 21 allowed to serve in the military ?

if they are gonna raise the age to buy a rifle to 21 , they should raise the military age to 21 and the voting age .
And does any wine have any idea of how many kids under 21 die in auto accidents .

we should raise the drivers license age to 21 , IF we cared about lives , but gun control is not about saving lives . Gun control laws are about disarming Americans .

I am not a staff member and I will not presume to speak on behalf of the staff. However, I think the staff will allow controversial subjects to be discussed provided people can stay civil and not start the name-calling. So I think this subject is close to the line, but as long as people stay adults they won't get involved. At least this is what I have gathered over the last few years watching how the staff handles things.

"Gun control" is about Big Brother's usurping power over the people. It never was about "public safety". The Left wants the people to believe the police, 911 operators and their mobile telephones are their "guardian angels" and will "save their lives 100% guaranteed" whenever their lives are threatened.

What did Benjamin Franklin say about compromising liberty for safety?

'Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.'

He said that is support of a measure that would have dramatically increased the power of the Pennsylvania General Assembly to tax the wealthy.

You should read Franklin's thoughts on the second amendment in the transcript of the constitutional convention.

Actually I've heard the media report underlying family/mental issues. Maybe after the shooter goes to trial, but to me that furthers the anti gun narrative, or at least the narrative for more gun control.
