Removing firearms or restricting them from legal law-abiding people will not solve this problem. Right now even the Federal Courts are not allowing tight gun control. As I reported in comment #114. If that lady had a firearm most likely she would have killed them both. As it was she used her car and got him. The problems with mass killings go way beyond firearms. If I knew for 100% that all murder and mass killings would stop if we could remove ALL firearms legal and illegal both I would support doing so. However, I live in realville USA and I know that is a pipedream.

If seatbelts don't stop all car accident deaths, we should end seatbelt laws because they obviously don't work.

See folks don't think removing/reducing guns from a society will improve issues, only because they don't want to acknowledge that it might actually work. At the end of the day, it's all about rights and nothing else. If people's safety is compromised for the sake of "rights," so be it, correct? It kills when people say, well if they don't have a gun, they'll use their car or some other weapon to kill. Give me a break. Nothing compares to a firearm. In fact, why don't we arm the military with a bunch of motor vehicles in combat and see how that works. I just don't think people will think to other weapons on as big of a scale. Its whatever though. To be anti 2nd Amendment is un-American I guess.

Seat belts reduce the risk of death or serious injury. Airbags enhance this risk reduction. Being armed reduces the risks of being harmed or killed when confronting a dangerous person or animal. Having a gun is a constitutionally-protected right: driving an automobile is a privilege.

I don't believe for just one moment that any gun control law ever saved so much as one innocent person's life. I have not seen a shred of hard evidence to that effect. I do believe many innocent persons, on the other hand, were harmed or killed because they were denied instant access to a gun by anti-gun regulations, policy and/or legislation.

Your mixing apples with oranges and coming up with a result that is changing the entire complexion of the argument. I don't accept this at all. First issue is there is no amendment in the US Constitution that guarantees the right for law abiding citizens to drive without having a seatbelt on. This was the other thrust of my point. The US Constitution is clear on this as well as the SCOTUS in their District of Columbia v. Heller decision. If you don't like the 2nd amendment you need to take that up with the founders that wrote it as well as the various states that enacted it. I'm not attempting to be a ######## here AND I will defend your right to your opinion to the death. I am just pointing out that right now according to SCOTUS generally what you are wanting is clearly unconstitutional!

Unless you have lived under a totalitarian regime where you can simply be interrogated for days to weeks on end for having indoor toilet, or repairing the asphalt in front of your house, or the fact you couldn’t say anything negative about your government, or had to work in secret on your second job because your not allowed to make more money than what the government allows has no value on their opinion.

The grass is always greener on the other side, yet you haven’t lived their to see that it’s worse.

In other words go live in China, Cuba, Venezuela, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, India and say something against the government or their religion. See what happens.

Being armed can also be a false sense of protection. A person ain't gonna rob you while you looking. A person ain't gonna confront you while you looking, and mass murder #### sure ain't gonna happen when everyone is looking. You can be armed all you want to, but if you ain't looking, you're a dead man.

I agree 100000000%. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to see people tote a firearm and be scared to fire it. In a lot of situations, they still get killed sometimes with their own firearm. Come crunch time if you can't fire you are better off leaving that firearm at home.

We need to open up the mental illness wards and lock away people who clearly shouldn't be in society.....all these shootings have something in common, a young teen who had mental illness history but slipped through the system cracks.....
