Guy M Turner heavy haul hit by Amtrak in NE North Carolina

I was just forwarded this link. If you catch it quick enough, you can see the live helicopter video feed. Turner is from Greensboro North Carolina. I would think they would have their ducks in a row when it comes to heavy haul specialized, but they've been known to miss things in the past, heavily fined for not having enough permits for their loads (on the NY State Thruway) etc. I wonder if they got stuck on the crossing with the trailer being low, probably trying to get under electrical wires, etc.

You know the news, horrible reporting, 4 out of 5 news outlets reported the truck hit the train....whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!! haha The chopper video shows the driver walking around talking on his cell phone. Also can see the DOT guy doing a thorough Post-Wreck inspection.

Just amazes me how quickly there is video these days. Be on your best behavior at all times people! That being said...given the fact that right before the impact, there is a car coming toward the camera, makes me wonder if the traffic light at 301 and 903 was red and the Turner truck stopped on the tracks, F that...I'm not stopping on any tracks if I know I'm not going to clear them within 5seconds and stay moving!!
