GUYS HELP!!! EXPIRED MED CARD!!

I might have found out the hard way back in Feb. During a 7am level 2, 8mi from home. Cop was cool though because I already had a new med card, just forgot to submit it. A quick trip to the mvd and I was back on the road the next morning.

 

We get a few months notice but from experience keep a hard copy of certificate in case DMV loses it.

 

25 year experience PA CDL here. Wife trainee team partner has TX CDL. These states are not the same. I fully expect your PA CDL to downgrade the day your med cert expires like mine did.
Going forward next time allow 30 days (even by email I got burned for not allowing the 15 days processing time..even with my confirmation email receipt )
Also the only info you want to trust is what Harrisburg , your local Driver License Center or your Safety Compliance guy tells you.
These states all roll different ways , since you are from PA I'm telling you how PA rolled on me.

My Iowa downgraded as soon as med card expired. New physical, walked into dmv and showed it to them, back to class A.

 

Go to the Doc at Sunrise, get the Medical, E-mail it from the Doctor's Office. (They do it for you.) No sweat...!!!

 

Correct. Think my letter about getting a new physcial said, cdl downgraded at midnight the day it expires. This is Pennsylvania also. May have changed. They warn you in a mailed letter like a month before.

 

You should drink more coffee it helps you to remember

 

Go get your physical done. Go straight to DMV. Get receipt and the name of the person who handles your self cert. Problem solved.

 

My 1 year med card expires in March. If I get it renewed before it expires do I need to do anything with the DMV?
