Yup . What's your registered weight on your combo ? Most 3 car loads will put your GCW over 26,000 lbs. The empty weight of that trailer is 6,200 lbs. You had a 3 car wedge rated to have less than 7,000 lbs. capacity ? :biggrin_25524:

that info on that page is incorrect u have to look at the info sheet on that page. the trailer was originally rated at 20000 when it was built i had them change the tag on it sayin it was 12999 the truck is 12200 so the combined is 25200 (under the 26000). the trailer itself weighs around 7 or 8000. so what i am wondering is if i have 4 cars at 4000lbs a piece 16000 combined and my trailers tag says 12999 am i going to be in trouble?

You don't get what I am saying . The weight on the trailer is GVWR - total weight of trailer and load . If you put 2 4,000 lb. cars on you'd be over your 12,999 .

YOU'RE confused ? :biggrin_25521: I give up . I will tell you I just had a level 2 inspection in TN Saturday and he did look at the GVWR sticker on the tractor and there was a space on his inspection form for it .

    Exactly... lol.

if you had them put a 12000 sticker on it.. yep you will be over weight.. yes they will look at sticker.. why would you have a 20000 rated trailer only show 12000.. that dont make sence.. 4000 x 4 is over your 12000.. math dont lie..neither does scales..

I know where he's coming from . He must have been talking to one of those dually owners out there that know the requirements for CDL's and IFTA are determined by GVWR , not actual weight . They figure if you get the trailer rated for a lower weight but register it for a higher weight you can run 30,000 lbs. gross without a CDL .
