Great! Sounds if you have enough ambition and are hungry for miles, work, and money that you can make a good amount of money your first year as a truck driver in the industry. Thanks for the info and Hopefully I get lucky enough to get Pre-Hired by this company. In all of this hard work and miles ran how many times were you home over the course of the year? and what were your pay checks around per week after taxes? dp they pay weekly?
H.O. Wolding is a GREAT company!

Well home for me is California, where my girlfriend lives, and I'm usually there now every 8 days or so for at least a reset. That's just the way the loads work out. Any other driver would be pissed because they would be sitting in California but it works out for me.
After taxes, checks I would put an average of $750-800.I'm probably one of Uncle Sam's favorite nephews.
A lot of it depends on your dispatcher, how well you know how to work your hours, and just being in the right place at the right time.BigX72 Thanks this. -
Weeble is one of a collection of drivers that drive the California on a regular basis. I don't know exactly how many go out there, but it's not a regular thing. But he's right, how much you make depends on your work ethic and your dispatcher. Mine has kept me moving... I've had 10 trips so far and only two were below 500 paid miles. Two were over 1000 miles and I'd say the average is about 750. You want to get over 500 a day and work 6 days a week to make decent cash and get the big bonus while getting a few days off a month.
My personal goal is 3000 paid miles a week. If I manage that, I can take a week off every month and still get the big bonus.
Where Wolding stands out is in their pay structure and bonuses. If you plan everything out right you'll have the opportunity to make serious money in the first year.Kutina Thanks this. -
I know for a fact that we have two guys that live in California, but for the most part, it's just being in Wisconsin at the right time for the loads.
I like the pay structure as it rewards you pretty well for producing. The big bonus every quarter is a minimum $1500 gross if you hit it. Imagine that, pay for productivity.
Looks like I'll probably need a reset out in Portland. Will only have about 15 hours left for 3 days. Fine by me, gives me a little time explore in my soon to be residence.
Gotta run, time to make some money!Kutina Thanks this. -
I'm not complaining. Like I said, if I keep getting 700 mile trips on average I'll be satisfied. I'd look at a California run like a vacation.
-
Not saying that you are, just explaining to others how it is with the Cali loads.
And it is a vacation, until you get to California. -
Yeah I went out there with my trainer. He made it look easy, though the 55 mph speed limit is tough to deal with at first.
im home for the next 5 days getting some rest and doing the family thing for a while. Hope to be out on the road for a solid month and a half starting Sunday. -
Same speed limit in Oregon too and they routed me up here through California on the 5...no thanks. Took US93 to 84 so i could at least put the pedal to the floor. What I will say about those states is at least it levels the playing field for us and not everyone can just blow us off the road. Enjoy the home time driver.

Unloading here in Portland and then down to Eugene to pick up a broker load that delivers Monday in Golden Valley, MN. After that I'm looking to get a load out to Cali so I can take my week of vacation. Safe travels all.

Reset is up, time to head out to Minneapolis. Real nice up here in Portland, think I'm going to enjoy it. Be safe all.
