Well getting to L.A. so I can head out for vacation, just not how I thought. I'll be dropping and swapping tomorrow in Bellemont going to San Jose for Monday morning. Not exactly the L.A. area. Well, a couple of hours later I received another preplan picking up in Watsonville Monday afternoon delivering in Ontario Tuesday first thing in the morning. This actually works out better as I'll be getting an extra 700+ miles and I'm gonna need all the help I can get taking a week off this quarter. Will be running hard until the 4th.
Kutina Thanks this. -
Spending the night here in Gilroy, CA at the Garlic Capital of the World. Deliver in San Jose, pick up broker load in Watsonville, then head down the 101 to Ontario for Tuesday morning.
On a side note, went to take a shower at the Petro in Santa Nella only to find out I hadn't fueled at a TA or a Petro in a while. Lady at the counter was nice enough to give me one for free. There is still hope for the hung human race.Kutina Thanks this. -
A very nice old guy working the TA in Matthews Missouri in the middle of the night gave me a free cup of coffee just because he felt like it.
Outside of their staff, I don't really like TA's. They overprice their stuff way too much. -
Delivered yesterday in San Jose and ran down to Watsonville to pick up 5 pallets. Took 17 down there, man what a ride. Definitely would not want to do that loaded. Took US101 all the way down, real nice drive. Delivering now in Ontario, just waiting on paperwork and then it's off for vacation!
Will be back at it 1st thing Monday morning. Be safe all. -
Enjoy that vacation Weeble.
I'm dealing with a looooong live unload and I've got a finicky broker load tomorrow. -
Good ole broker loads. Longest live unload I've had recently was the one I delivered in Portland a week or so ago. Shipper only put product on about 6 pallets and the rest was on the floor. I unloaded the rest by hand and put it on pallets (I think you know what shipper I'm talking about if it's on the floor). 32k by hand and probably a 1k boxes. Who said van drivers don't work? Got $80 for it though, not all was lost.
Kutina Thanks this. -
I would have done this myself had I known I could do it. I'd rather get paid to sit around and at least be doing something.
-
Yep. Still waiting on paperwork. Knowing my luck something was damaged on that five pallets. Cheese and rice man.
