I have seen it take as long as 30-45 days for a DAC to be updated.
Just a FYI.
You may need to check it more than once. -
Really,if ANY company I want to work for doesn"t see DAC for what it is..,I DONT wanna work there anyway..
rocknroll nik and 123456 Thank this. -
Thank you again everyone for the information you have shared with me. I've ordered his DAC and I will make it a habit of checking it like a credit report. He's a new driver so I can't imagine his DAC would be wrong, but stranger things have happened. I'm going to write the owner of H.O. Wolding so at least he knows about his terrible safety director and the way my husband was treated. Best of luck to all of you!

But wait until he gets a bad hit from those BFIs then see if you get a copy of it in the mail BUT I'd go ahead and down load the dispute form and get it almost filled out and also call the VA and ask about getting a copy of his military record but be sure to tell them the reason why you need a letter from them stating that your husband never served and then go sue the crapola out of HOH if they lie on your husbands DAC Report!
New hires/rookies just get all panicky about that stupid DAC crapola! It's a road horror story that when they hear about it, it stalks them until they figure out it's a bad rumor!
Also have your Father in Law do a DAC search and see what he gets. IDK what the cost is but I bet he'll get information faster than sitting around waiting for that BFI HireRight to send any kind of free stuff out as they can take as long as 30 days before they even look at those "free reports order pages!" But still hold off on that freebie from them until he hears from another company. -
How in the world does HOW make any money, going through people like that? They can't make money by paying recruiters, paying trainers, paying safety directors, paying for orientation week meals, and losing 6 people per week. What is their source of income, I wonder?

Not sure what exactly happened.....but I am sure with a spouse posting, the events have been filtered a bit....heck in a difficult situation, how often does the spouse get the true story which has not been sanitized a bit.
I'm sure it is a very difficult situation.....perhaps a member of management had heard a story and feared how the driver would interact with the public....maybe a bit of a paperwork snafu and an application that was not 100% perfect....who knows.....but to assigin a truck to a driver, then let him go at the last moment, they must have had some fears that something was amiss, and in the sue happy place we live in, they must have felt justified.....
Good luck.....and imo try not to post so much info as to make oneself as readily identifilble....burning bridges in any indrustry is bad, especially when starting out.
HOW has some very high standards and had a good safety record to show for it....they do seem to err on the side of caution and safety in most of their descision making. Perhaps corporate culture wise this company was not a good fit..... -
My husband has since talked to many companies and they are not pulling up any military experience. First the safety director said it was military then he said it was medical (my husband passed all DOT tests). The fact is, he had no reason to fire my husband.
If you don't drive for H.O.W. and you like them so much, why don't y ou go work for them. Perhaps, you will fit their culture better. My husband has been around tractor trailers most of his life so I dont believe safety played a factor in this. He'll be driving for another company soon!123456 Thanks this. -
