Well I ended up getting home at 2:30 am Saturday and slept in my truck rather then making my wife come to my parking spot to pick me up at that time. Anyways I was at that shipper in Mi. for over 8 hours getting loaded. Now the load I have delivers to 3 spots in Wi. with a preplan to pick up in Wisc at Ashley furniture which delivers Tuesday in Chicago someplace it doesn't sound fun. Maybe the first PPL I turn down? Going to talk to Shawn tomorrow about it. Both of these loads say that I have to help unload? I didn't think we had any touch freight with this company? I hope they pay extra for the tailgating. I also hope the stuff isn't to heavy. I saw what they loaded in my trailer Friday some of the items are the big tall rolls of insulation the warehouse guy said they weigh about 80 lbs each? First del. tomorrow is at 8:00 so I'll have to leave home around 5 to make it. My delivery time in Chicago Tuesday is at 8 am Seems like a tight schedule. I am learning that when Shawn says don't worry about the apt. time I usually get screwed one way or another? As far as my routing I look at qualcom and a map book and my gps and figure which way to run. I bought the gps from work and it seems to be pretty good. Anyways its been a nice short visit at home. Lets hope we all get some monster miles this week. I don't plan on getting back home until Christmas eve it will be the first 7 days straight I'll run here. I hope everyone has a safe week!![]()

Oh yah I also wanted to let you all know its my Wife's big week! She starts orientation on the 18th. I wish her alot of luck I'm sure she'll do great! Go figure the week of orientation and she is having some minor back problems. The only problem we feel she will have is with the physical and the lifting stuff they make us do. That 75 lbs crate is pretty heavy for her to move we have practiced a bit here at home. Does anyone know if she can't do that part is it a fail? She will do fine with the driving and backing stuff! They trained her very good at Eagle. Good luck Sweety have fun in Amherst!
Bktrkrwannabe Thanks this. -
Thank you sweetie! I can't wait!

Just look at the helping with the unload, at least you'll have a say in how long you are at the receiver. We do have some driver assist loads, I've had a handful and you do get paid to help. Chicago isn't too bad, would rather do that than Boston or NYC. Furniture shouldn't be too heavy, as long as there are no sleeper sofas. That's a different story.

The Ashley load worked out ok. No touch. I did get some extra for the insulation load also. I did have to help unload 2 of the 3 stops. The furniture stop the warehouse guys said go have a seat in your truck it will be a while. Took them about 1.5 hours. Picked up a load next of scrap in Chi town and I'm getting my rest in Fond u lack the rest area just south of there. The load is headed to Neenah with a PPL for a load to Ohio to deliver Thursday. I hope thats the case I don't want to be up here for this storm their talking about. Suppose to get over 12" starting Wed. night into Thursday with 50 mph winds. Nasty. So I'm just short of 1k miles for 2 days not to bad! My wife made it through the first day of orientation sounds like she is doing good! I'm happy for her! I hope everyone is doing good! Please drive safe in the nasty weather!!
