I never had that problem, but there are plenty of carriers that want to force the driver to do as much work as humanly possible regardless of their comfort or well-being. That also means there's a lot of drivers out there being forced to drive tired and hungry in order to make their paycheck. Just because I've got it, good doesn't mean I don't think anybody else deserves anything.

There are so many variables to every aspect of this conversation. Number one, if it’s so important that you have a restroom to use, why can’t you be content with the Porta John they put out for you? I’m not saying they’re comfortable when it’s freezing cold, or blazing hot, but it’s better than squatting between the tandems! I can be in and out of one purty quick if it’s an emergency!!! Number two, if you would like to have better facilities, take care of what they offer! Livestock can take a dump with less overspray than some people! As far as all the other little issues, I am opposed to Uncle Sam getting even a little toenail involved. For reasons some others have mentioned. When a law is passed it will likely never go away. I don’t run Elogs, because, there again, to many variables! You better believe if I run out of time 2 hours from home, I’m sleeping in my own bed at the house. But when the elog mandate took effect, they didn’t just target the whiny drivers, everyone got screwed. As far as stopping to eat, I don’t cook in the truck, and I eat while I drive for the most part. Not everyone is alike, we don’t all haul the same freight, we don’t all take dumps in the parking lot.

Portapotties are just fine in my book, but even that is a luxury denied by many. And 2 hours is a long ### way from home to be driving illegally just to wake up 8/6 hours later just to do it again. There's a lot of old folks out there claiming they don't need the sleep while zombie walking through life, or falling asleep mid day for a "nap".

That’s because those of us who’ve actually learned how to work have to be forcibly dumbed down to the lowest common stupidity, all in the name of fairness of course.

I’m not opposed to taking a break, but I prefer to do it when I want to do it and that’s when the work’s done.

Dept of Education fixed public education so why wouldn't govt bathrooms be a blessing? I'm sure govt bathrooms would be as well run and pleasant as govt public housing or govt run city bus service and govt run prisons. Maybe the govt could force private citizens to work for the govt cleaning those bathrooms (make slavery great again), and then build a Dept of Federal Bathrooms who will need many managers and administrators, and acres of office space and furniture and computers and requiring higher taxes forever.

Public schools would be much better if their funding wasn't being siphoned away by charter schools and private schools. The rich should fund their own #### schools 100%. Leave public education alone and it would probably be 1000x better.

Some people aspire to having the govt tell them when to inhale and another dept tell them when to exhale. If the govt doesn't do it then nobody does it. They want govt permission to use the bathroom and a govt bathroom to use.

Did those imaginery drivers elect you to speak for them and force the rest of us to work or live in a way that benefits those imaginary drivers?
Work a union job and live with the burden of other people NOT choosing what you choose. Those making other choices are not yours to be fixed.

So, when are you sending your children to work in the mines to make sure you can pay your bills? 9? 10 years old? Don't need no gubmint telling me that childhood education is needed.

Lots of regulations are written in blood. A nation is built on the health of its population. Plenty of health benefits to not working yourself to death.
