Not a chance am I signing that nonsense. Stand up for yourselves instead of begging Daddy Sam to do it for you.

I'd bet they could build a full shower and toilet in these regular sleepers now , if they cared about building cool stuff.

 

The people that resort to acting like an animal have no choice because they fail to notice SOME CUSTOMERS lock drivers out of bathrooms & their planning to fail leaves them without any civilized options which can easily cover this situation & easily put the waste in a toilet. "Taking a stand" isn't going to make a toilet magically appear. Plan accordingly & this is a non-issue. Don't plan & you are left guessing what you can put is a half-crushed coffee cup & does it leak.
Make good choices.

 

I'm sure you've never eaten anything that made you sick. Sometimes you can't plan for food poisoning. I really don't think it's a huge ask to be treated like a human being while I'm on your property doing work for you.

 

Showers and toilets are free and available at every truckstop with a fuel purchase. Yet we constantly have filthy MF that drops bags of #### and piss bottles everywhere. Then they roll into a customer wearing the same grease stained sweatpants and shirt they've been wearing all week smelling like roadkill. Putting a shower and toilet in the truck wouldn't help anything. These dudes are apparently afraid of water.

Not to mention being to lazy to find a proper dump site. Those guys are leaving that dump valve wide open and just letting it flow onto the ground in the truckstop.

I dont blame these customers for denying access to the filthy slobs that are pretending to be "professionals". I wouldn't let any of them into my bathroom either.

Even at the places that Ive gone with those signs I can usually still get into a bathroom. It's amazing what being clean and polite to others will get you.

I had one customer a while back that I regularly went to refuse access while they were taking forever to unload me. Since he was halfway through unloading a completely unsecured load I just dropped the trailer in their loading bay and left. Went back about 30 minutes later and rehooked to my now empty trailer. We were allowed to use the bathroom after that.

 

It's not a huge ask to use customer's bathroom. Some customer's say no, have a plan, don't ignore reality. Adults deal with reality.

As @Razororange pointed out, dressing & speaking like a human being pays off with many customer's. It did often for me. Walking in with a "the world owes me stuff" attitude doesn't work like it does on TV.

 

You personally should be responsible to pay for the costs associated with maintaining the bathrooms and you personally should be the one to clean them. Forcing the majority to suffer for the minority is absolutely ridiculous.

The minority has abused the privileges that used to be available and now the minority suffers for it. Many people are fed up with having to carry the burden of losers not only in the industry but society as a whole.

If you want to play Mother Theresa then you and your cohorts should be the ones the bear the associated burdens instead of using the government as a weapon to push the responsibility onto others.

 

So a while ago I get an email from a receiver that one of my drivers used the bathroom and made a mess out of it. Now they have security footage of the guy going into the bathroom and coming back out. I called the person who sent me the email, had the upload the video to me and I watched it, while I was on the phone with her. She was really pissed that this would have happened after they accommodated the driver and she said we are going to pay for the mess he created, which was really bad. As I am watching the video which clearly shows the guy’s face, I asked the person how did she know it was my driver, she said it was obvious which made nonsense at all. She said he asked to use the bathroom and so on.

Now we keep accurate live records of all the loads on every truck at any time of the day or night, and can tell anyone where any one truck is or was. So I pull up the load the driver delivered from the company name, I pull the drivers record up and then I confirm that we did deliver a load there, the driver left 20 minutes ago all the while I’m on the phone with the nice person on the phone screaming at me.

I let her rant for ten minutes about all kinds of crap, the clean up and all about pig truckers, she went on and on until she ran out of energy.

so I told her, I am going to send my driver back there and if this is the same one on the video, we will have them clean it up or I will fire them and pay for it. This shut her up and we left the conversation cordially.

About 45 minutes later I get a call from her, this time she is calm and quiet about the problem. She asked me if this was the same driver or am I trying to mess with her. I said she can check the Bol to see if her signature matches because I saw a mid 30s white fat guy going into the bathroom and my driver is a very thin, mid 40s black lady. I added that unless she is Ray Charles, she should see difference between the two. I also suggested that she checks the footage of the guard shack to see that her truck was the only one from my company there in the last three weeks, and she was the only one in the truck when she had the guard inspect it so she can exit.

Before I left the call, I said that she can apologize to me and my driver and it was silence on the other end so I disconnected. My driver got the apology, I was tempted to bill the company for a truck ordered but not used to really yank their chain.

now why did I post this?

because this has happened more than once, it isn’t something government needs to be involved with by trying to force any business to accommodate a driver and not have any responsibility held to that driver for damages or maintenance. This crap will lose work for the industry, nothing more.

by the way I would post the pictures of the bathroom but won’t. That driver not just exploded against the wall but smeared the door, sink and mirror with … well. I have seen worst at a truck stop in lapeer Michigan which had it on the ceiling.
