How much you wanna bet a lot of these shippers receivers do pay the detention and a lot of these trucking companies withholding from the driver using an excuse that they didn’t get paid… I bet more companies than people will are willing to ever admit do that

There's a dairy shipper in le mars is where I asked if there was a restroom. He said you can go around the corner of the building. This is in a developed, high traffic area. I have a simply orange jug I use in some cases. It has a wide mouth that I require ( lol). It's better that exposing yourself. I dump it in the grass, 5 shots of bleach spray and a little water, shake and dump. Perfectly sanitized. But as for #2, I just suck it up. I'm not ####iing where I eat

I have gotten food poisoning. That's why I had a plan not just hoped that it wouldn't happen again. I also know, from complaining truck drivers if not the news, some customers make you wait 10 hours and some customers won't let you in their bathrooms and some customer bathrooms are too horrible to think about using. There is a difference between people who look at the world, as it is, and make a plan and the other people that believe the world will always be green grass and happiness and sunshine and no problems will ever come up. One set of people achieve better results than the others. Some truck drivers are a strange combination of constant complaining the world doesn't them me enough and also expecting the world to provide for their needs at all times. Good luck using a coffee cup and a handful of receipts as a toilet. Let me know how well that works. Crapping in the parking lot like a stray dog is how property owners learn they don't want any trucks to be on their property. Expecting EVERY property owner to pay for a 5-stall state of the art bathroom for truck drivers when they find drivers crapping in the parking lot or filling their property with porta-johns that are service twice a day an sterilized after every use is unrealistic or a bad plan. Expecting other to plan for you is unrealistic after you see at least one customer NOT planning for you.

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

And then you would have a bed of half the width of a twin bed to use in the space not dedicated to the shower and toilet. You can have all three in a standard size sleeper now unless you expect bed, shower, toilet to permanently occupy the sleeper at the same time. The secret it at least 2 of these features have to be collapsible or fold-away when not in use. You also have to decide whether these features are your everyday solution or an emergency solution. The last is much smaller to carry, but either case requires a decision and planning.

Nobody is asking anyone to do anything where they eat. BTW if you use a truck stop shower or bathroom is it impossible to pour the waste into a toilet, the next toilet you come across? At some really horrible porta-johns I have used them only as a place to empty an emergency toilet rather than use the porta-john as intended.

I blame Benny Franklin.... If he hadn't pushed for indoor plumbing back in the 1700s we would not be having this discussion.

For me it all comes down to: It is the responsibility of the driver's employer (Trucking company) to accommodate toilet needs. And should be part of the contract the company has with their drivers (employees). It would be nice if the employer (trucking company) either ordered the trucks with them (composting toilets would be a good choice) or gave out emergency/camping buckets as part of the driver issue gear like backup log books, FMCSA required materials, Cab binder, load locks, straps, and other job required gear.

If a person really feels the need to do gov't regulation, make it part of the Employee Health codes/OSHA requirements for EMPLOYERS.

Probably happens more often than not. Nobody wants their trucks sitting for free.

If the govt can force a restaurant to not only have restrooms but also comply with ADA rules they can compel a buisness to do the same . .

I sincerely hope you paid your employee for wasting her time driving back to that place. I honestly can't believe you made her do that.
