    I heard that Bison was owned by a good Baptist family and Reimer was owned by a good Mennonite family. Both of which have charitable Foundations which support good causes. Just my 2 cents, I don't drive, only ride a 2 wheeler with my ears on channel 19.

    I don't know about Bison...but Reimer is not owned by Mennonite's...it's owned by Yellow-Roadway. (YRC)

    ya in 89 the same people run it they lie cheat hold trips back on pay till your 1 month behind or worse was told drivers work better under pressure hurry and rush
    loads sit in yard and you have make it up and they ask you for favours and never pay back or offer $$$ hell they pay for advertising by the year just like seimans group of companies

    I have not had first hand experience, but spoken with enough of their drivers to know I would not work there.....

    The other one mentioned here I have first hand experience with and would not recommend them to my worst enemy!

    The one nice thing with these companies is if you stay a year you are a senior employee;)

    hell i was there 1 year and was top 10 senior owner op in 10 months

    I work for Bison, and have for last couple years. As per normal trucking company, there's good and bad. I make minimum 4k a month take home, good benefit plan, $700-1000 safety bonus every 3 months and don't have a problem getting somewhere when I need to, and my miles average 11500 to 14000 a month. Good USA runs and stuff's handled.

    I stay under the radar whenever possible, run legal and don't participate in the soap operas and it works well.

    Do your job, stand your ground when it counts and Bison is pretty good.

    I find alot of the guys that whine about miles etc, usually have other issues going on that aren't necessarily Bison's fault if you get my drift....

    Now that right there is great advice for anyone in any company.

    I've talked to a few ex-Bison drivers lately and they didn't have anything terrible to say. I figure it's a good sign when people who have left the company aren't bashing it. It seems like you're usually out for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. Is that pretty standard with Bison or does it depend on your preference?

    Depends on your preference. Lots of guys work all week and home on weekends, or if you are USA you can be out for week or more and reset wherever. They are pretty flexible and have alot of variety for all. Just have to be clear with them from start, and communicate what you expect, want and can do.

    If you haven't already, call up the Driver Recruiter and they usually have a pretty good spiel that would give you a good feel for it all. Whatever you decide, good luck with it. Hope goes well for you.

    I stopped driving about ten years ago, things have changed a lot for the drivers as well as the companies, but 1 thing has stayed the same. As bad as it it for these companies to treat every driver like a number that is replaceable, every driver knows there is 1000's of other companies that offer 1cpm more then the who they are with or newer equip. or more miles. Now yes all this is important to drivers but it when we start hopping companies like a lot of drivers and o/o's do the company you are applying to isn't going to expect you to stay.
    I haven't worked for any of these companies but I always thought if I do go back trucking I would consider bison.
    A while ago I checked out Yanke's website and read their policies and i maybe took a lot of it the wrong way but I found their policy basicly said if you work for yanke you agree that you will go were they dispatch you when they do or you will be terminated. Hats off to them being honest that you will be force dispatched.
