It will be interesting to see how this plays out. It may just be BS and the
German is hoaxing, but if he's not, telecom companies and their customers
are going to get hit with some pretty big one-time expenses fairly soon.

The cell phone companys have insanely high margens once they are established.
Putting op towers and such really cost allot in the initial thrust, now adding 3g and 4g transmitters are costing some also.
They still do not take all the margin out though. Eventually the cell companys will stop expanding for a year or so. Just maintaining what they have. When this happens profits will go thru the roof for that time, getting the capital to them to expand again for a few years.
Cracking that code can hurt in the short term.
It was only a matter of time though. A new multi Level code and scramble system will need to be created, and I am sure that several are out there waiting. All the companys had to know this would eventually happen. -
It is always a game of, one up man ship. Security is good for only so long, someone is always trying to break it.
