Knowing what you know about him right now would you hire him if he had a CDL?

NO! I would not! I have stated this many times on these boards. If I was operating a carrier and had to start hiring problem drivers I rather shut it down. My point was not what I would do, but what is happening all across this industry right now. As I have stated many times now. I have a serious problem with my Heart, Diabetes, and Have Epilepsy. I have spoken to some people looking for drivers that say they are needing bodies so bad they would consider hiring me. (joking of course). This is why I used the phrase (REAL-WORLD) in my comment. This is also fostering a vicious cycle. As more and more problem drivers get into the industry more and more damage happens. More and more FMCSA rules get posted on the Federal Register and Laws passed by the States. Insurance rates will skyrocket! I'm not trying to be disagreeable, I'm just living in realville!

    REO6205 Thanks this.

Look, if you didn’t get a ticket, then it won’t be on the mvr.

if it isn’t on the mvr, then it didn’t happen when it comes to the truck insurance company which dictates to the trucking company who they can hire.

Even if your insurance company has to go to court, unless there is a criminal judgement against you as a result of the civil case, welcome to trucking.

NJ dosen't remove stuff after 3 or 5 years, it stays on your abstract until you turn the page and includes the points removed every year for safe driving so I can figure out how bad your record was; same thing when it shows you took a defensive driving program or a driver improvement program to avoid a suspension for too many points...My agent won't 'count' accidents over 2 years unless it shows up in a chain of them. lot of eyeballs looking at your record.
