drivers are in high demand, don't ask if they will hire, just fill out the apps.

look for private fleets. companys that haul what they sell, sysco, us foods, etc etc.....

McElroy would probably hire you..But as a flatbed company, their business slows down in the winter time since they typically haul building materials. You could try the soft drink and beer companies. Also look at Lowes, Home Depot, Meynard's, etc. Lowes and HD have flatbeds, depending on the store size it could be a bob truck or a tractor trailer. I'm not sure about Meynard's since they are not in my area, but I hear they do 3rd party delivery.

Lots of companies. The reason most people don't know of companies that hire drivers without experience is because they're too lazy to do more than fill out apps online. Most lazy ##### resort to starting with mega carriers! It's not that hard to get off ones ### and pound on doors! What do I know though? You have much more experience in the industry than I do.

You don't know anything about me. I am not lazy. I got a local job straight out of school. Set schedule, over time after 40, home every night, off every weekend. I took time to find the best job for me. don't work for a mega, never been OTR. So thank you for the smart ### comment. My reasoning that I think the OP needs refreshment is not that he does not have experience, it is that he has not been in a truck for 10 months, so most likely even if he finds a job, without refreshment, his skills will be rusty and may get him in trouble

So to the OP. Do you feel confident that you will be able to drive the trucks with so much time off? If so, go apply. If not, get some refreshment . In the long run a refresher could be cheaper than making a stupid mistake or forgetting something important because it has been so long since you learned/drove

Relax Calvin, I wasn't referring to you. I was responding to your untrue statement which was the minimum the OP would have to do was take a refresher. I still say that is untrue because I know it to be untrue. Then I responded to your question which was who will hire a guy with a CDL from 10 months ago and no experiance a job without retraining. The answer: lots of companies will give him a job. In my experience the only companies that require retraining, refresher or months in a truck with another dude are bottom feeder mega companies. If a guy did research they would find that there are a ton of companies that will hire without experience.

Well you are probably right about him being able to find a job. But, it seemed to me that you were implying that I was one of the lazy drivers that didn't get off my ###. Sorry if iI was wrong
