Most jurisdictions have a clause that says any dispute must be handled by a local officer. The camera company can’t just decide to alter the citation or issue a new citation.

    Matttrucks Thanks this.

This is what happened to me. I once got a red light ticket in the mail months after the incident. Presumably the ticket was first mailed to the company, and even though I was long gone from that company, they disputed the ticket on their end, determined I was the driver, and the ticket was ultimately reissued to me.

The trucking company never talked to me about it, it just showed up in the mail. I'm going to guess the OP was mailed the ticket, but maybe changed addresses or something and never received it.

Edit: F U Hannibal Missouri! Miserable crap hole of a city.

How are they supposed to know who the offending driver is without the company relaying that information?

The whole thing sounds cheesy. I'm surprised the system is still being used. Kind of like that whole speed camera trap.

You have the right to face your accuser.

Sounds like his company must of turned him in after their truck number got ticketed. Low blow and not taking care of an employee for sure.

What state are you in?It doesn’t sound like you’re being truthful most states that use cameras if you don’t pay it’s a civil action against you it doesn’t affect driver license in any way if you don’t pay they can send it to collections or some can refuse to renew your registration which if that was your case the owner of the vehicle would have paid it himself then recover the price from you.
