I haven't played much of it yet since I wanted to spread the word. We were recently discussing about finding a good truck simulator and I believe I found a good one:

You can try the free trial. Be sure to switch into the ####pit view. I successfully managed to pick up a trailer but when I went to drop it off I turned too hard and lost it lol. It may be a little arcadey though, since I doubt a truck can accelerate as quick as the one in this game. I will practice now while I wait for my trucking school to start.
Haha I found a good PC truck simulator

ROFL ... and driving for real isn't good enough lol?
THBatMan8 Thanks this. -
im gna say a game like that wont teach you much....however since your at your pc/laptop maybe check out youtube and the hundreds of vids from truckers on backing, pretripping, HOS, fueling procedures and such....all the real world stuff..
it helped me!Bum_Jesus and 7122894003481 Thank this. -
here is a fun one..
www.truckingsim.com
text based, no crazy graphics, easy to play in just a few minutes a day...
There are companies or run solo, there are contracts, breakdowns, truck upgrades, etc....pretty realistic for a text based game.
Still being developed so some bugs but mostly working and a blast to play.
If ya come on look me up if you have any questions.chompi Thanks this. -
Agreed, I enjoy it.

I just signed up on truckingsim.com.

It used to crack me up to see truck drivers taking a break from driving in the truck stop and they would be in the arcade playing the driving games!

this one looks better than the one i played last year that gave up this jan.
petter well off with only 3500+ players so far. -
And you do not need to worry about pesky little things like backing, turning the truck, shifting gears LOL
I had 18 Wheels of Steel American Long Haul at one point. I was hopeless at it. Might have been easier had I had a steering wheel and brake/acceleration pedals for it - I was using the keyboard and mouse to maneuver. Not sure where it ended up in the house LOL. I was unable to back up to the trailer, let alone hitch the tractor to the trailer. -
Apparently the game doesnt support Windows 7. =(
