They told me this was caused by the trailer filling up with water during a heavy hail+rain storm the night before. I dunno... but something made a mess.

That's possible I suppose, but I suspect the trailer probably was poorly engineered or more then likely had pre-existing structural problems. None of the other trailers in the photo collapsed like that. Also, a micro-burst may have played a part in conjunction with some ice/water weight accumulation. They are fairly common in Wx that can produce large amounts of hail

I call it bs. I don't see how any amount of hail hitting on the center of the trailer with enough weight / force to do that kind of structural damage. Damaged to a roof or side is one thing but enough to do that to a trailer floor as well and fold the wall + ceiling??

I live in Brooklyn, NY and I'll be selling the Brooklyn Bridge. First one to jump in on it and send me large amount of cold hard cash gets it - preferably in $100 bills. (any takers??) I'll take paypal?

The only way I can see it, is if hail opened up a few holes in the roof and the trailer started to fill with water. Even then that is stretching wildly.
Most likely it simply had structure failure, and it happened to be storming also. Could have easily blamed it on the night as the storm.

Yeah I highly doubt that hail would do that. Hail will break windows. If hail were strong enough to damage the trailer? It would have crushed the whole thing and not just one area.

I guess trailer was loaded. Roof side beams normally are under compression force to resist floor bending force. They are same as a column but horizontally. The whole structure will collapse if column is bent by hail and water weight.
The last straw will break the camel's back.

Are you selling it as scrap metal or collectable item?
