My son has been driving for a company hauling trusses until we get going on our own. They pay next to nothing and 80% of his loads are wide loads. He just got offered a job for Haliburton and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and if so how were they? Seems they can't find anyone to pass their drug tests, etc.

I don't know about driving but I've worked as a welder/fitter for them and they paid pretty ###### well with great benefits.

I figured they paid pretty well. Big name going on there :) I guess it pretty much goes without saying the drivers pay would be decent. I think at this point any place would pay better than where he's working now lol.

Thanks and nice to meet another neighbor!

From what I understand they are a great company to work for, with lots of overtime as they are short drivers.
    Good luck!

Just be real careful if you go to the annual stockholders meeting and Dick Cheney invites you on a hunting trip... You may want to remember your kevlar line boxer shorts.

I don't know much about TX, but up here in nowhere WY, Halliburton works up here with the oil fields. Im not sure exactly what they do....but if you work in the oil fields driving truck, you can make some pretty darned good $$. And with many jobs, you can be home nightly from what it sounds.

It's the same way here too. I used to work for their competition in the oil fields years back. I talked to my son today and he's still not sure because he would have to move. Another thing he's thinking is since we're going O/O by March, moving may cost him more in the long run.

    Tude,
Here is something to pose to him, He may be able to make some connections through Halliburton that may very well help you two out in you O/O business. Just food for thought, But from what I have been told by the people around here that have worked with Halliburton before working for KBR they do pay extremely well...

Hey, thanks Hangman, I'll give him a hollar and see what he thinks! If he can get past the thought of moving for awhile he may do it. On the other hand, he's fallen for this young lady he met in Dalhart and although he's told her he would be very busy building a business the first couple of years, I'm not too sure he will add a couple hundred more miles distance:(

That's a great idea though and I appreciate it. I'm waiting on him to call me back lol
