Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely look into it. I am actually located in Oregon. Do you happen to know any companies to look for that have CDL B positions? I only ask because nearly every Craigslist positing I find requires a CDL A, and I don't think I've seen a single CDL B position. Maybe I just need to look a bit harder. >.<
Halliburton Entry Level positions w/o CDL?

That's why I was wondering what part of the country you live in---if I give suggestions about jobs in the Denver-Julesburg basin these might not apply in Texas! I haven't worked in TX but have been thinking about the warm winters! As an example there is a national company named Badger Daylighting---you can Google for their website to see what kind of work they perform. They franchise their operations out and the one north of Denver is always looking for Class B drivers and swampers, not all the work is in oilfield--I talk to a couple of their crews and are working max hours. Look at the following website, a recruiter for Western TX was in the 'Trucking Jobs' section of the forum back in July and I check it for jobs in my area: www.selectenergyservices.com they have labor jobs and water tester jobs that might lead into their Class A jobs. Another company www.northernplains.us has a lot of Class B trucks from
hotoil/frac-heating trucks to truck-mounted crane trucks--they say Class A preferred but accept Class B.Last edited: Sep 7, 2013

Wow, that's great information, thank you for taking the time to post it, it's much appreciated.

polarisryan, here is a link to the Badger Daylighting job on CL near me, but I see the franchisee on the Western Slope and WY post similar ads.

Swamper is a drivers assistant. So depending on what kind of a truck your on depends on what work you'll do. In my yard we have only 1 swamper and about 23 vac truck drivers. The swamper goes with the winch truck to assist the 1 winch truck driver/operator we have. But when this driver's out with the pump truck ( he's the only 1 trained to operate this truck ) then one of us vac truck drivers will drive the winch truck to/from the location but the swamper will operate the truck and load/unload tanks on location as he doesn't have a CDL.
