In this day and age that’s not a ticket to be taken lightly. It doesn’t look good to insurance companies, and it doesn’t look good to potential employers that could face thousands of dollars in fines if you get caught again.

You may have to lease your truck to a lesser known company while this gets cleaned up. The name brand companies have a lot to lose and they dont want to deal with the fines and such

Last time I got a copy of my MVR.
We have a choice of 3 year or lifetime.
I was told that companies have to pull 10 years. For new hire application.
AND. Commercial don't have the luxury of online. We have to walk in.
Not all states allow online. -
The biggest issue here could be the insurance of the carriers the op is applying for. With all that hype of hand holding a phone while driving, they seem to freak out almost as if it were as evil as DUI.
I am talking about those kinds that require or encourage driver facing dash cameras. Also, many safety department hypocritical fat arse idiots like those at Swift, Schneider, Werner could be an additional barrier.
I think, the best odds are to sign up for a smaller, down to earth carrier where safety is taken seriously but with common sense. Although, on the other hand, every time I see a truck swerving in a bright daylight on a straight road, it is almost always someone doing something on their phones.
If I were a carrier's manager and someone came with the op's violation and that is the only one on his MVR, I'd give him a chance. It would depend also on how the guy appears in person, the way his talks and behaves during interview.
After all, who never hand held a phone or did not consume a subway sandwich while driving?
If you do...don't get caught or more importantly, don't kill anybody.Wespipes Thanks this. -

I cannot imagine myself to deal with safety departments questioning my Personal Conveyances or having to answer to them for anything. Or for that matter, having to deal with dispatch of any kind.
Also, since I've been running my own numbers, which is 3 years, I have never been summoned by my drug consortium for a drug test yet. Before, it was more or less twice a year. For me, a clean guy, it was always a waste of time.
