Does anyone know whether or not you can have a commercial drivers license and a handicapped plate or placard for your car. I was first told no and then was told I could as long as I passed the dot physical.:biggrin_25512:

I don't know that one has anything to do with the other. Why would they?

In my home state, any qualifying individual (as per a doctor's sign-off on the appropriate paperwork) can obtain a disabled parking permit, whether that person holds a driver's license or not.

What does your state's motor vehicle code say about it?

Its the same way here in Mass. I was told by the rmv that I could have both as long as I pass a dot physical. At the same time I know more than one person that was told that they couldn't have both. Not sure if this a dot thing or a rmv rule. I searched both web sites and cant find anything about it.

I got a friend of mine that lost a leg and drives a semi, he was issued a handicap sign for his car. Now that he gets around alright he really doesn't use it anymore. I do look for handicapped signs in semi trucks parked unattended at the fuel islands though. Never seen one yet.
