I have the same set up, purchased at Wal Mart in an emergency. It runs the 800 BTU single hose a/c unit just fine, even on eco mode. But unit only cools to a point, due to inefficient single hose design. Ok for sleeping at night. But not very good over 80 degrees. Very disappointed in unit. I’m going to try to modify it maybe. Or get a regular window unit. The idea to stay small on generator, has to do with fuel usage. It’s just enough for the 800 btu. I would rather have a larger one though with electric remote start. Still on the drawing board. I ran the vent out my sleeper vent. Hose gets hot gives off heat. Need to seal up connections with tape and insulate good.

I saw one guy on youtube with an older Freightliner he cut a hole in the floor. I know there are dual hose units.

Looks like a #### wreck. #### nothing wrong with you guys using a gen-set, but at least put some class in it.
Storage box for gen, hidden wires run to a solid mounted AC outlet box in truck.Western flyer, tucker, 86scotty and 2 others Thank this. -
You should definitely look into upgrading the genny, if that AC is running at 15 amp on 115 Volts like mine, that is 1725 Watts. That will wear out that generator quick if you are using it every night

Here’s my set up using the same generator.
Runs all night on one tank of gas on echo.
I am using it right now as I write this.
I’m in Florida and it’s 83 degrees and I’m cool and comfy at 68 degrees in my cab. -
The Honda has an internal fuel pump and will draft fuel thru the fill cap from an auxiliary tank with out adding another pump.Doealex and Rideandrepair Thank this.
