The only ones I hate are the next to the main busy streets when I block traffic for like 2 minutes I have a feeling at least 32 4 wheelers ###### my mom

Right door was rubbing on the wall and left door rubbed on the railing going down. Front bumper just missed the beam in the front.
Owner said the last driver here took over 2 hours. I took maybe 5 min.superpet39 Thanks this. -
Mellisas Produce Soto Street Los Angeles, All doors except door 1. Built to hold 39' trailers with the old shorter wheel base tractors, back when sleepers were coffins. I have several friends that still go there If Im in the downtown area I 'll go by there with my day cab to pull them in or out. just not enough room in front of trucks at the dock and the fence.

I have a plant next to the 405 w los angeles / Santa Monica that I have to fold in both mirrors and its 2 90 degree turns. I also have to pull my markerlamps off the trailers or lose them.

Kraft, just south of the Baltimore/Washington TA. The last three docks are blind side with a retaining wall and fence on three sides. I remember the security guard there well. Calvin was his name, and he would tell you to pull in and get turned around. Then he would tell you to ignore your mirrors and watch him. He would walk in front of the truck and make circle motions with his hand, telling you how to turn the wheel. Just about the time that you'd be thinking "this isn't going to work. I can't see ****." you'd feel the bump of the dock and Calvin would give you the stop signal. I never took a pull-up there, but you really, really had to trust Calvin.
cdcii Thanks this. -
Wasnt the hardest dock iv ever been in but the USPS docks off of fort street in Detroit were fun in a 53 footer and a long nose pete. Had to jack knife it past 90 degrees to let the other trucks out of the building.. i waited there for 11 hours to unload 7 skids of news paper inserts... PITA!!!

I don't do a lot of backing in the open deck world, but occasionally we have to hit a dock. The worst was a spot in Philly for the Plaster Man, that was the on the business card he gave me. I had to wait till midnight to come in so the lot would be less crowded, and then after I made it into the lot he told me to blind side into a single door inside dock. After about ten minutes and popping the yellow button twenty times I was pulling into the building. I felt real lucky and am happy to not do any more blind side work.
