I drive for FedEx CC. As of now I am running solo. Well not running, sitting at home because I was tired of wasting fuel sitting in South Carolina at Pilot.
I haven't been able to find a co-driver and neither has the Owner OR FedEx Saftey themselves. Why is it so hard to find co-drivers when there are numerous amounts of solo drivers out there wishing to drive?
I am finding it very difficult to want to stay driving expedite now. And anyone reading this new to FedEx... DO NOT GO TO GEORGIA!!!!!!!!!! Atlanta WILL KILL YOU!!!! This last week I was sitting in SC, and there were over 24 trucks checked in, in just Atlanta alone sitting for days....Best bets for loads is Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Penn, Ny, Mass, RI, Conn, WI, MO.
So in the long run... Anyone wanna team up? I live in Tennessee... lol![]()

If they can't keep you busy, why would anyone one want to share/split that misery with you?

maybe there are more long runs that requires a driving partner? that is what i have always heard. you run your rear end off to hurry up and wait. im thinking that is what this post is about. im sure Gentry knows where the loads are, and it probably requires more driving than the 500 to 600 miles a day limit we all face if you are running legal. it makes perfect sense to find someone that will drive with you.
we all know the saying, you aren't earning if the wheels aren't turning. -
1st, it's tough to decide to team with a total stranger. If you find out you're not compatible, you've wasted time doing so. 2nd, in expediting, teams don't make the same kind of money as OTR teams do. You don't run double the miles that a solo would. The main reason to have a team in the truck is that there is always a driver with hours available on his or her log to be able to pick up a load. But it doesn't mean you get loaded more. So the only teams that make out decently, I think, are same houshold teams. Then all the income is going to one household.
Most OTR teaming is done with one on, one off. So you don't spend a huge amount of time awake, together. With expediting, you can, so you better enjoy each others company.
I'm about to go out, solo, for a owner. He's been out solo these past few weeks, while I finished up with my previous employer, got qualified by FedEx and attended orientation. He has been doing very well, and we're hoping it will continue when I'm in the truck. We have agreed, however, that if either of us feels we're not making enough money, we'll look for a co-driver for me. But that's something I'd prefer not to happen.Sacred Feline Thanks this. -
I am with Express-1 and drive solo but have teamed on occasion. I find I make more money as a solo driver.

The local Fedex contactor is looking for drivers too. Overnight flips to cowtown or Big D. It's pups so likely you gotta break 'em and set 'em.
.32cpm...... Which just begs my fav. question !!!!!
Why on earth would I jack with pups for .32 when JB will give me harmless pre-loaded beer on a drop and hook for the same .32 ? Why would you ?!
Let us never give our professional services for chump change wages drivers!!!! ( can I have a second on that motion? )scottied67 Thanks this. -
