Irishtrucker, I completely agree with everything you just said. I am going into trucking to see if it fits "Who I am" and for no other reason. I won't really know the answer to that until I actually do it.

the hardest thing about being a OTR driver is making right turns without ridin the curb

its hard to comment on this. I do think the old timers deserve the respect for they paved the way for us young drivers. Most old heads will give you the info you need to make an educated decision. Then you have what i call old fools that tell you what they think is right-- and they are telling you this while drinking a pint of Jack and playing with nose candy. then jump in a truck and run 18 hours and say thats how it used to be in the old days! I drive a truck because i love trucks and the freedome of the open road. And i do need the money. I WILL NOT HOWEVER SELL MYSELF OUT FOR A CRAPPY PAYING LOAD JUST TO GET MY TRUCK MOVING. Those are the drivers that make it bad for the ones trying to make a change.

Meat999, I can see where that would give you a bad outlook but you really can't say all older drivers are like that no more than one can say all young drivers are bad. It sounds like you have been around the wrong people.
