I had a guy pulling a 40 foot container come into my lane... I think he forgot that he wasn't hauling 20 foot containers that trip. Good thing my day was almost done, as a change of trucker gear was in order. :D

That guy will be branded for life as Buffalo Bill. No matter what movie I hear him in I always think of silence of the lambs.

Watching Russian dashcam videos will provide all the driver hi-jinks you'll ever need. Driving in that country is more of a game of survival than anything else.

You have to watch a vast majority of Schneider, Werner, and Swift drivers. They re very bad about almost running you off the road trying to get over to make the exit when there s been signs of the exit coming up for 2 miles or more. SOME Owner Operators are very bad about almost hitting your truck to get around a slow truck that they ve been coming up on for a few miles. Not to mention almost causing you to make an erratic swerve when they pull on to the highway from a dead stop with no warning of any kind

Duel actually was Spielberg's first, he made it while still in film school. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. If you haven't seen it, go out of your way to watch it. What a ride!

It's Hollywood with professional drivers and stunt personnel, closed roads, lots of practice and takes, and post-production editing. Never going to happen. In the real world, people take down license plate numbers, whip out the cell phone and take a movie...and drivers get points. And arrested.

    No, it doesn't happen.

Had this exact thing happen a few years ago. Going westbound on I-40 west of Albuquerque around 0100 hrs. Had an O/O that was pulling a Swift trailer come up to pass me. He got his fifth wheel to my hood and decided it was time to come back over into the right lane. Fast. I had to lock them up and get to the shoulder as fast as I could before we traded paint. He either wasn't running a CB or he was ignoring me because believe me, this woman was cussing like a sailor at him! I believe he was either not paying attention or maybe tired. It definitely gave me and adreneline dump.
