Most of the time I am able to get a 34. In fact, if i want to take a 34 at home, it's just a message away, as long as I stay out at least 2 weeks. I ran recaps this past week because of the long haul from the previous weekend, but most of the time a driver can get a 34 with us
Has anybody gone from 4 weeks out/1 week home to 4 weeks out/4 days home and gotten used to it?

I prefer 4-5 weeks out with a week home. I wont do 1 day per week out. I used to work for a company that claimed you get one day out per week but found out that it topped out at 4 weeks. Then I would have to work a couple extra weeks because they claimed they couldn't get me back home because there weren't ever any loads down here. I stayed with that company for about a year and quit. The company I'm with now I can be out for 8 weeks and get 2 weeks home or I can be out for 4 weeks and get a week home. They're pretty good with home time and I get to keep my truck.
feldsforever and Dockbumper Thank this. -
I’ll never work for a company that dictates my days off. I don’t earn days off. I get days off.
I used to work 3-4 weeks and then take 5-7 days….. that got old….
I now work for a company that is usually 2 runs a week… out and back. But they are completely flexible is you need days off. Usually have 2 days in a row… sometimes just a 34… sometimes 3 days. Usually get all the holidays off.
Last week, went in Monday and was home by noon on Friday….
This week… had a 3 day holiday. Making a NC to Kentucky run Tuesday…. Return home Wednesday. Sleep in my bed Wednesday night. Thursday a run to NC to Indiana… I’ll either be back Friday night or Saturday morning…
Money is great…. But quality of life is more important to me. I could make more on a plethora of different jobs…. But I love the flexibility and quality home time I get….
YMMV

Sleep right, eat salads once a week.and don't drive maxed rmps. I can usually 6-7 weeks. But thats been about six months since I've done it. But I did just start a five week out this time.

After the first of the year, I am switching to a 5 weeks out, 1 week home schedule. My 1st grandchild was born in June. I now have a reason to go home more often. I should still be able to drive 120,000+ miles per year which will put me a little over $60,000 per year. Not a bad living in my book.Lostmykey, Kitty40 and feldsforever Thank this.

That was one of my biggest bugaboos when I was with Swift several years ago. That is where I started in 2016. Spent almost 2 years there. Even if I stayed out for 8 weeks......still a max of 4 days off in a row. Or.......empty your truck and we will issue you a new one when you come back. They did not need that truck.....it was a control issue as it is with many companies with that silly policy.feldsforever and Kitty40 Thank this.
