Ok so I’ve been looking into a way to get power since I can’t idle the truck. a generator might not be good because of the gasoline. here it goes!
Deep cycle Marine battery, 700w pure sine wave inverter, a small lighter inverter to charge the battery when I drive with a battery charger trickle? Would this work? Would only be using the marine battery an hr a day after I finicky my day. How long would this battery last? Thanks in advance!
Has anybody tried this for auxillary power?

That's funny, I just came into some 18v solar panels and just for kicks I was going to put one on the roof of my p/u and see if it will charge an isolated battery. If it works well, I've got 2 more I'm going to put on my sleeper(it has a dual battery 12v system for air and lights).

Do a diesel generator

Hook the deep cycle battery to the batteries on the truck.
You can diode protect the truck batteries so you could run the deep cycle battery completely dead and not have any effect on killing the truck batteries.
Wiring it this way when you run the truck it still charges the deep cycle battery.
This is exactly the set up I run on my car trailer for my deep cycle battery that runs my hydraulic pump for my hydraulic decks on the trailer.Grubby, sevenmph and Paddlewagon Thank this. -
Why do you need a pure sine wave inverter?
Grubby Thanks this. -

As an isolated system, this would work. I understand the dilemma regarding the company truck. I had to disconnect all of the wiring for my inverter just before my truck went in for a PM. A real pain, but doable
