Hiring process must of changed, I have 4yrs of driving experience and 2yrs of liquid tanker experience with all my endorsements+Twic and I cant even get one call back. I put in 7 applications for different locations and nothing, I just get a "Thanks but no thanks" email.

i relocated to atlanta ga. and rented an apartment near the terminal to drive for gemini and living in atl metro was the worst.

except for rm's and slip seating gemini wasn;t 2 bad.

I relocated to Cartersville,GA. Put in a app for the Emerson postion after I moved and didn't get a call back. I was maybe 10mins away from that location. Only time i went into Alanta was when I was flying in and out of the airport. Or went to go the zoo or aquarium.

Do oilfield jobs pay well? Is it OTR or local? Would someone with about 2 years of TT experience but with no hazmat hauling experience be able to get hired on?

I guess you can say its local. The most miles I drive in a day is probably 80-90miles sometimes less depending on what I'm doing that day. I work 3 weeks on 3 weeks off, $3500 gross/week minimum, hourly pay. I stay in a man camp so I never sleep in the truck. My company requires 3-5 years of driving experience and hazmat tanker experience too.

Thanks for the info. One other question; do you do anything besides driving that requires an additional skill set (working on wells, or anything besides ordinary labor that anyone could do)?

Nope, no working on wells. But depending on what company you go with ie Halliburton or Patterson UTI you can transfer over.

    Zonno Thanks this.
