i have a 1991 379 day cab with a pretty corroded cab.... I bought a 1998 cab in very good shape but is from a written off truck.
I’m trying to figure out how to handle this whole situation... anyone have any experience?
Has anyone ever done a cab swap on a 379

Is it a straight swap, cab mount to cab mount, or is there fabrication involved?

Well far as I know... removing the old cab in putting the new one in place is the simple part.
I’m concerned with wiring and vin numbers ect .Trucker61016 Thanks this. -
From 91 to 98 your gonna have air ride cab issues to deal with. Not a big deal but if you keep it air ride radiator supports etc need to be moved to the radiator. The rest is just as straightforward. Nothing to laying the dash and wiring harness out.

You have to put radiator supports to the engine instead of firewall so cab will float. Use the 98 mounts etc. Not much to it once you see the two side by side its gets self explanatory
pushbroom, shogun, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -

Once you’re done the dealer can order you a vin plate for the old truck. Put that on the new cab.

Edit. Someone answered for me. Thanks
