Has anyone ever seen evidence of the driver shortage?

Well...every time I went into the truck stop, the driver shelf was always empty. It still had the new driver smell though.

 

Well you can believe what you want. I have never used a computer to look up directions. I have bought an extensive collection of Road maps. GPS is great for certain things if one is in a normal vehicle. I tried to use one years ago, but after the second time of getting me lost in areas that were unsavory. I figured out i could do better by a paper map of the area. I do not consider a GPS a computer, but an annoying electronic device that needs major upgrades to be accurate. Especially with the prices i have seen they are asking for those thing's.

 

I just use my phone and Google maps which lets me travel my route all the way to the gate. It has never let me down. It also works as a phone, radio and computer but sure, paper maps.......

 

To be fair i still have a box of city truck route maps and will reference them just to make sure i can fit on the route google sends me.

 

GPS' have gotten very accurate. Like all tools they're only useful if you learn how to use them.

If you're comfortable with maps then there's no need to change but don't knock the usefulness of GPS.

 

As we have all stated. We each have our manner to get the job done. Old school, or new school.

 

To be honest. I pay my taxes, and am entitled to voice my opinion, in a manner befitting the rules of this forum, and as an American i have the First Amendment right to do so. This is my opinion, and if you do not agree with it, that is your opinion. This is why this country is so great, we are individuals, and have our own way of thinking. I do know how to use a GPS. I am well educated, and can read instructions, or directions

 

Publix starting pay is 66k. Fritolay starting pay 72k. But they don't advertise on Craigslist. And neither does anyone else worth working for.

 

I just search the address and then switch to satellite view and then literally trace my route from the interstate. Google isn't sending me anything. That's my way. If you are OTR, I find it hard to believe anyone could have a map of every city.

 

Okay, you have been on this theme for a while now. No one is saying that you can't voice you opinion. Also, we here at TTR are not the government so your first amendment rights do not apply. Again, we all get it, first amendment isn't being debated.

When you use a broad brush or especially when you claim superiority or use the term "real driver", expect others to use their first amendment to counter.
