MADD and other anti truck organizations would not have formed if not for the accident rate, drinking and driving rate in both cars and commercial vehicles, and stupid action seen on the highways of CMV drivers -

The only shortage I've seen is a severe shortage of freight at a good pay rate!
Lepton1 and Midnightrider909 Thank this. -
Maybe in your area Fritolay starts at that, not in my area. Wife's uncle retired from Fritolay in route sales after 30 yrs back in 2008, $85,500 when he retired. Reading this post earlier, called and asked how it is today, he still has friends, OTR drivers start between $55K and $60K with 3 yrs exp. minimum, in some markets they pay more to start. He has a friend that just retired after 28 yrs in L.A. making $130K, different market, different cost of living, different pay structure.
Don't know where you got your info for Publix, per Glassdoor.com, based on 4 reported salaries for Truck Drivers at Publix, the avg. wage is $53,467/yr, with a salary range of $48,896 to $63,567 INCLUDING ALL COMPENSATION. Driver employment range is 3 yrs to 15 yrs. Data is as of Nov. 24th, 2016.
I have an account with Glassdoor.com, I get job updates and offers all the time. -
