I believe it too- Southwest airlines and That Other Budget Airline are the 'Dollar store' airlines (Although they do have a Good safety rating)

I Choose United or American Airlines Business- Pay the Bigger Bucks But I Aint Crashing

We Had a Southwest Runway overrun on dec 8 2005ish- 1 killed on the ground..

then of Course, The Big 1 we had in 1979 when 248 people and crew were killed at Ohare international They eded up Grounding all DC-10 aircraft after that

Flying makes me uneasy these days, I'm always wondering if the pilots are properly rested and if the aircraft had a pre trip! :)

Who said OTR? We work 6 am to 4 pm M-F with time and half or double time for OT, I think this entire year I worked a total of 5 Sat. or Sundays. I guess it sucks that I've only been gone from home 10 nights in all of 2016, missed 5 weeks of work for my surgery without pay, and will still net $70,000, and I got 4 weeks of paid vacation. It also sucks that my out of pocket for surgery is $3,000 of which I will only pay $1,500 the company will pick up the difference and still fund my 401K. I wonder, how much of a year end bonus did you get? Mine was $1,500.

My lowest paid co-worker, of course he's 62 and really doesn't want to work (his wife is 15 yr younger than him and a teaching nurse) will net $45,000, but his pay is by choice, he's the first volunteer to go home, he's the first to volunteer to take a day off when it's slow.

No it doesn't, not a single industry out there pays a starting wage that will support a family on.

I've also shown that your numbers don't add up, Glassdoor.com is not a fly by night website, it uses data from real people, verified from companies, and is frequently used as a source of information by CNBC, Bloomberg, FOX Business and the US Gov't. No place on that site can I find numbers to support your information, BUT, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you have the exp. to back up their offers, even though the offers can't be found anyplace.

WOW, I'd love for you to tell me where you get your info. According to Airlinepilots.com, the base First Officer pay for SW airlines is $77/hr, that's well above your claim of $30K per year, for a pilot with 1 yr exp. and tops out at $176/hr after 12 yrs exp. A Captain starts out at $221/hr and tops out at $251/hr after 12 yrs.

Theres a shortage of being a humanbeing. How can star athletes like a brock osweiler whos a trash qb complain about not getting atleast $20 mil a year on a championship team? Now texans benched their $70 mil man atleast he got this years paycheck and not have to do jackshit. If i was athlete ill be ok with takeing a paycut to have a championship.
Begs the question what is acceptable pay?

Um, yeah, you might want to recheck your info. My brother in law is a senior mechanic/supervisor for UAL with 30 yrs exp., he makes $180K annually, BUT, he works Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., every holiday possible to take advantage of Double and Triple time. He and most mechanic also frequently work double shifts, I wonder how safe the plane your flying is when the mechanic working on it is 15 hrs into a 16 hour day working 4pm to 8 am. His hourly base salary is $30/hr

The '79 O'Hare crash was caused mechanical failure, had nothing to do with pilot error.
