Has anyone ever seen evidence of the driver shortage?

Driver shortage or qualified driver shortage?

Seems like companies that have good jobs, don't have shortages.

Should be more like steering wheel holder shortage.

If I ever waste an hour & half looking for a place to shut down, I'll know it's time to simply end it all.

I think if you will read the post again you will see they pay percentage. And I assume the $15 is accessorial pay for wait time.

Let's look at the resale value of the Boston truck and the Colorado truck in 10 years and see who comes out ahead. All that salt is going to eat the hell out of that Boston truck and there won't be much of it left in 10 years

As a starting wage, in the Denver market, yes. Remember, starting wages vary by market.

Our hourly starts at $15.50, our line haul, which 60% of our work is, starts at 21% of what we charge the broker. I've been here 19 yrs, I get 30% of line haul and $23/hr for local, I'm topped out on line haul, but not on hourly.

I've been to Boston, ain't no way in hell you can convince me to come drive in your traffic for any amount of money. I have three friends who travel to Boston routinely on business, all three say the same thing, it's nice to visit, ain't no way in hell I want to live there, too much congestion, too many people, too much permanent construction. Seafood is debatable, I've had good seafood in many cities. I'll take your word for it, never have, never will be an NFL fan.

You obviously spend the majority of time in the city, and not in the country or real mountains, Douglass, Monarch, Wolf Creek, Red Mountain, Molass, Coal Bank (these last 3 avg. 5,000' drop offs the entire route), Berthoud, Rabbit Ears, Lizard Head, Slumgullion, McClure and many more. Based on the amount of East Coast skiers that wreck rental cars in the winter out here, I'm skeptical of anyone from the East during snow. Come play in the real mountains, the 4th picture is a 12% 1.5 mile grade around a blind curve.

heard a news cast about a driver shortage. the shortage was based on a projection that freight will rise 37 percent by such n such date. that freight could be used now ... right ?

It's exciting, just like a scavenger hunt. Watching that clock tick down looking for a parking spot is the biggest rush you'll ever know.

15 an hour isn't nearly enough to justify chaining up on I-70 all the time.

I can't say this isn't true. No one is as good at complaining as your average trucker lol

I like when they get ballsy and start proclaiming that they'll "take this effing truck home and the company can come get it"
    - okay numbnuts shut up and deliver that freight with your tail between your legs now

This is ridiculous. Please tell me for what type of visa a person willing to work as a truck driver should apply? I'm one of those immigrants.
