I have hauled a few loads as a company driver for C H Robinson,, got loaded quickly but as another poster said they keep calling and calling until you deliver the load, after the first time i would give them dispatches number and tell dispatch not to give my number out lol. i am a driver not a answering service.
Has anyone haul for CH ROBINSON OR ALLENLUND.

Not all brokers are bad and not all driver and trucking companies are good. There are select companies who each contribute to bad names for the others.
I will say one broker I have had some luck with is AFN in IL. They seem to really value the carrier and do a straight pass through of fuel to carriers on dedicated lanes. I have gotten decent loads from the Robinsons of the world but they are just like working with the Schneiders and Swifts.....less caring and more numbers driven -
We've hauled a few CHR loads and for good rates. I don't call them. Their posted loads are usually cheap. Most of the ones I've booked, they called me. Hint: if you use their online system to update your load status, you won't get phone calls. They'll pay decent as along as they need to move the load and there's not a dozen carriers racing each other to the bottom over it.
Just recently booked our first load with Allen Lund. I quit calling them over a year ago since the offers were just beyond too cheap to bother with. My son scored a $2.50/mi offer today so we'll see how it works out. -
I'm leased-on to a company that hauls for CH on a regular basis. I'm not saying everything is gravy, by any means... But, we usually get 1.70 to 2.00 a mile, depending on the length of the haul, really. Most of our CH loads aren't really that heavy either. Sure, a lot of their freight really is cheap and heavy, but if you take it, it's your own fault.
The rates aren't what they need to be, but with a paid for/reliable truck, and excellent fuel mileage, it's workable, at the moment.
As for them calling you constantly? I don't really see that. Every once in awhile you'll get a critical load where they want regular updates.. And even more rarely, one where they'll call you. Usually you'll call when loaded, get your advance if needed, and call when empty. Pretty simple... Less then two minute phone calls, usually.
There's better stuff out there, but CH is what you make it, in my opinion.

I dunno why these cry babies whine about the brokers being rip off scum. Nobody is forcing a driver to take their load, but if they do for a substandard rate, then they are the only ones to blame for contributing to the problem. The guys who pull a load for cheap are the rip off scumbags who are basically telling the broker "Hey, I will haul yer cheap freight so keep it comin"...ever think about that? Sometimes its better to deadhead then to haul cheap freight...actually its better all the time, then you dont have to worry about haulin it!
jcross Thanks this. -
I think its funny how these morons actually expect all these brokers to pay em top dollar on their first load. If a broker doesnt know you or you have rare dealings with em then yea, you are gonna get the ##### freight...but if you hang in there like the window lickers you are, then you will see that things get better when you actually take the time to build a relationship with em...

Just quit using brokers period. There are trucking companies who do it. I have NEVER heard of Heartland accepting any load from a broker, for any reason.

Never hauled for either.
The few loads I've called for Allen Lund were absurdly underpriced. Like $2/mi from OH to Boston, or $0.80/mi from NJ to Ohio. Absolute jokes. They're one of the few companies (along with UTI) if I see listed I don't even bother calling. -

Gotta agree. If I take a load for too low of a price, shame on me, NOT the person who offered it to me
