Then don’t go to this company they won’t get you home in time for it. I took 2 days off for thanksgiving and didn’t get home till 0800 thanksgiving day. I wanted to be home 1200 the day before. Plus I had to DH 250 miles to the house.

I live in St. Louis’s and my get me home load was in indiana.

DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY. I worked there for two week and I was short $400 bucks. The truck payments are $1500 a week includes everything except fuel and tolls. They want you to turn $5000 dollars which goes to the truck and after that is profit. So if you want to make money, each load (Granted, your not working weekends) has to be $1,500 each and I can assure you there not. Average load is about $750 a load. Some are even $300 to $600 a load. Then you have to drive three hours to pick it up. No pay for deadheading and its your fuel costs. If you fall short and can't make the truck payments its carried over to the next week so now your going to owe twice as much and the figures I just gave you has to double just to break even. I was running fast and hard and the loads just kept getting crappier and crappier. For instance, I live in n.e. pa. They wanted me to pickup a load on Thursday afternoon in central Ohio to run it in Hazelton, Pa. It only takes about nine hours but the thing was, it didn't deliver until Monday afternoon. From Thursday night to Monday afternoon I'm just sitting around in Pennsylvania. Not turning, not making money. My loads trickled down to two a week. The lady will tell you at orientation that if you fall behind in the truck payments that you'll always have something in you check but there was nothing but crapp. So now two and a half months later, I'm broke, being evicted, about to lose everything I own and my wife just died of a heart attack. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

I work at tradition. I make money here. Weekends are slow at times but nothing horrible. I've yet to get a load that paid less than 1500. The deadhead sucks sometimes but even with it you can still make money. I did 3 loads this week and will bring home about 1800-1900 before taxes (you're 1099 unless company driver) and of course that is after all my expenses and fuel. As far as the guy wanting to go conestoga it's slow right now. Van is best bet here that's most of their freight and a lot is drop and hook. If you run and dont make money change your dispatcher/planner/fleet. I know of quite a few guys that work here that have paid their trucks off in 2 years or less. Of course everyone is different, if you refuse loads or are one of those guys who drives 1 hour and sits 3 in a truck stop you probably wont make it here. But if you know this industry and the costs associated with having your own truck and you run decently then you'll do ok.

This Company have bad reviews on Google. I think these companies should stop telling drivers they don't work hard enough or they dont know how to run a business. I beg to ask you how many miles, days,Hours, and stress does it take to pay more than a Swift driver. The industry tells people they are dumb. I seen where people get mad because they can't work more hrs when we are already over worked. This business has people losing everything to drive a brick hood truck and at the end of the day it's still a truck and when somebody falls off they keep it going 1000 a week x52 =52000 a year plus fuel let's say 50000 a year then add in road expenses here's the kicker the loads get moved the Company gets paid and you don't sometimes. So 102,000 a year between fuel and tractor notes and if you do somehow gross 150,000 you only get a % of it.Thanks but I'll pass. 10/4

Pete 389 has an advantage over the aero t680 ,579 ,cascadia,lt,etc.,in terms of resale. That's why they chose 389 because most drivers want to be seen in one and they will keep coming to drive one. They can work for some because they may not have bills or a family.
