Have any of you hauled bees before? I'm going to be in ND next week and I see a lot of well paying bee loads out of there. Most do say "need nets".
Are there any special requirements or permits needed to haul them? I'm really temped to take one of the loads but I just want to see what I'm getting into first.

Rates are in the toilet like every other market. They used to pay well.

Hauled a load of bees two years ago, over $3 a mile,PA to WI.
Load and unload at night when bees tend to go to sleep, shippers provided nets.try to drive slow so u spend the day driving:bees move a lot and that creates heat so u have to keep them cool by driving.thousands of them will die during transit so buy a broom to clean ur trailer.
Long pants and a a jacket will protect you but u may get stung anyway.
Bee loads are top heavy so be careful. -
The $3 days are gone. Widespread undercutting is the norm today. Hell guys are out there right now doing over dimensional loads for $1.50 a mile, it's pathetic.
passingthru69 Thanks this. -
