I haven't hauled any chips in about a year or so. That was a different company all together and I hope to not get back into them. 23 tons in a 22ft isn't really that much. I have put 26+ in mine before and you could barely see the mound. Helps to have a good loader man.
There are no applications where I work. Its kind of fly by night but they are really good guys. They aren't listed in the phone book and you can't find them on the internet. Getting to work for these guys is either by chance or word of mouth. Hell I had to search for them for almost a month before I figured out where they were and none of the drivers would give me a number to call. The beginning sucked because of the heavy truck/trailer. We get paid percentage pay and its 3% higher than anyone else in the area. I'll ask one of out lease drivers tomorrow to see how they get worked out.
Not sure about what the insurance limits are. I sold both my trucks awhile back. Now I'm back in the company seat letting them deal with all the popped tires and DOT receipts. What kind of trucks do you have? Bossman may be interested.
Best thing about coming up here... the cost of living is hella lower. I lived down in Pensacola for awhile... -
Thanks for the info. your right about it being a lot cheaper to live there.. i got some info from a web site comparing costs and income.and we should do great.why do you guys use such small trailers? dump in tight spots or are thay harder to flip? thanks again for the info. WallyGator

The spots can be pretty tight. I was in a 275" petercar for the longest and it was some work getting in in a few plants and getting backed in. About to get back in it though. See all we do is feed concrete plants with rock and sand. No construction or excavating work. Our major account is with Martain Marietta, then we have razorback plants and a couple more. I wouldn't say they are hard to flip. Just not as easy as say a 35 or 40ft. Plus its just as easy to run 80K in a short dump as it is a long one.
