Hauling Containers in Ga

    aight here goes nothin, the name sayz it all...lol I have a VA small biz loan that I am considering buying a truck with for about $30,000. Id Borrow 60 to get started and have repair money in the bank.. I wanna get this truck and hire myself out to some of these container haulers here in Ga runnin from Savannah to ATL. How does this work?...what do I have to buy permit and tag wise? I have my own health and life insurance......I drove about a year OTR and did some local stuff for about another year.. I hear these guys pulling containers are making about 2g a week....any advice or help would be great. Thanks

    $2,00.00 gross that is a joke!! I do not want to seem like the smart arse that I am however, borrowing that money to buy something you know nothing about is not a good idea!

    ARe you looking to lease on to a company pulling their loads or are you wanting to have your own authority pulling containers??

    If just leasing on to a company ALWAYS get your own tag and non trucking liability insurance so if you quit you can just drive away. Most of the time the company you lease on to will cover your required permits including your over weight permit and IFTA.

    If you want to have your own authority and try to get loads yourself out of the ports well good luck!!
