Hauling crude in Corpus Christi TX

Oh Lawd I'd love to trade with y'all.love Wa state! Corpus is not bad,housing is much cheaper and easier to find than Odessa areas. Plus you'll have the beach too. Sorry I don't know anything about those Co's but did speak to a comp driver of Mission and he was very happy.

 

Just be prepared for insane gulf humidity, its brutal !!

Your in luck my friend!! I am from corpus christi lol!! There are many opportunities here and the neighboring counties you just have to know where to look and currently Im looking lol!!!!!!!!! Groendyke told me all he was offering was over the road which honestly isnt my cup of tea. My buddy works at Mission in the crude department and says their ok. As for any other info I would have to get back to you. I called Sunoco and their terminal manager wanted me to start with them the very next day!! It sounded kinda good but I know theres better like Nabors in Georgewest which starts their drivers at 26.00. Their are other companys I left out including Dupree, Sunline Global, Enterprise, and QC energy. If you or anyone else finds any moe info on these companies as well as others in the area, please let us know

 

I'm currently in West Texas hauling Frac Sand with Schneider Bulk. I'm trying to get myself out to Corpus and get into hauling crude. I've talked with Mission and they told me they would send me an application by e-mail, I never received it. I talked to Key Energy and they told me they only hire "local" drivers. Now I'm working on applying with Coastal Transport, website says 8 months experience, so maybe they have a lot of turn over. I guess I'll find out soon enough. I'll keep you posted.

 

I'm from Corpus Christi too. It's okay there. It's hot and humid as I don't know what. The beach is nice, but that's about the only public land you'll find where you can go and camp and stuff. There's some state parks around and there's a wildlife refuge up north a bit that is worth a day trip. If you want to hunt you'll have to pay for a lease. San Antonio and Austin are about 2 hours away and then there's the Rio Grande Valley to tour. To be honest after living in other places it's kinda bland there..lol. I like big trees and public land with thousands of acres where you can hike for miles and miles like it's your own property. That is now one of the requirements of my retirement area. There has to be lots of public land, but to each their own.

 

How's that sand hauling goo with s Schneider? Are they keeping you busy, money ok, equipment? I'm thinking about doing that.

 

Brother stay away from Coastal- it's bottom rate. Stay with Schneider and wait for something better. Key, Nabors, or some other water or production hauler would be a better step into crude.

 

Schneider is shutting down their sand division nationwide. This includes all of Texas, Pennsylvania and anywhere else they were hauling sand. Schneider offered all it's energy drivers jobs, but most were OTR or OTR tanker in their chemical division.

I got hired on with Mission out of the Three Rivers terminal. I'm two weeks into my three week of training on crude. We'll see how it goes with Mission.
