There was 2 great moments at Double C Trucking in Cleburne Texas. The Day I got a new job and nice truck, then the day I said my last words to the owner and quit. They are one of those companies that leave you in the blind of what loads pay, how much your percentage is, going home with a $550-$700 pay check when you ran out of your logs 16-18 hour days. The owner is a crook. He will take your child support out each week, but he won't send it in until you were stopped by DOT, found you had a Blue warrant, went to jail for 13 days, bond set at $1500, then to find out from the AT councilor that my employer did not send payments to them for 5 months. Then after my wife went into his office and made him write a check to bail me out, later I received a IRS 1099 form for that money. He is a low down, heartless crook. Other then texting him "where to next", he will not answer his phone, if he does and you start to complain about something, he hangs up. Great guy to work for.

    Is your real name Polly?

Sounds like that company has an empty truck. I think I might apply. I'm needing a job.

well its better than working for peanuts....:biggrin_2559:

and i am sorry you had this experience....buttttt speaking from experience, its YOUR child support obligation (yes i do KNOW what i am talking about hubby pays it).....so yes, your employer may have deducted and not sent it in, which is wrong..HOWEVER, consider it a lesson learned, its your responsibility to check with child support to make sure it has been being paid. hopefully you had pay stubs to prove it had been deducted?

wish ya better on your next gig.....

Yes you are right. A very hard learned lesson. Expect the unexpected. I call in every 2 or 3 weeks now and correct it if needed to be.

Responding to Lilbit, no disrespect. It is a figure of speech... I make twice that doing the same kind of work for the same customers at my current employment. My current employment at Northwest has their problems but not greed problems. I know my percentage, I receive a brokers conformation on the amount of haul, I get paid what I earned. With those 3 important features out of the way, the drivers including myself can overcome other obsticacle s that come in our path. I'm not out here trucking to go broke, not be able to pay our bills. We are here to provide for our family's. I'm too old to change my occupation after all these years. I also choose not to be a owner/oper for I suck at paperwork and managing a company. been there and done that twice. Northwest treats me fair to good. Also a 5/2 week company. Weekends off!
