Englebright reservoir is only 15 minutes from my place and it stays pretty full. Its a metering reservoir on the Yuba River, keeps the fish happy downstream. If it runs dry we're in deep sxxx and our governor will have to buy water from China..............

Not this Murray/Cozad guy. A 7 is the biggest I've ever put over the back. But I don't claim to be a pro with HH, just a guy who can get it done if things don't get too complicated. I've heard some pretty reliable stories from some of our old timers though. Hauling D8s sideways, moving a yarder with the boom on it, that kind of stuff. The yarder was one of those big old Washingtons and they saved a day if they could move it with the boom and all the lines on it. I would liked to have seen that.

Probably, but could we keep politics out of this?

I was thinking a guy could mount the winch on the ### end of the trailer... The wet kit could be hidden pretty easy to hide.

I hated yarders, yarders and big mast delimbers. I’m pretty sure they built Madills out of lead and most of it is way up in the air. Used to get pretty bold moving them from landing to landing back before the woods were full of Dept of Labor types. Most of that sketchy stuff has been over for a long time now. I’ve loaded lots of 8’s and 9’s sideways. If the machine was in a bad spot we’d put them on like that to get them out where we could break the neck off and load it. A guy with a load over tail in the same spot might do that to find someplace to load it without killing himself. Putting something the size of a 9 over the ### end of a Peerless is terrifying.
