hauling to Canada - what do I need ?

    Certain Canadian jurisdictions do not allow the same weight to be carried on Super single tires as they do on a set of duelley's . This may be where that miss conception comes from. Most trucks up here run Aluminium so that they can maximise weight. We are allowed to haul up to 140,000 lbs gross instead of the standard 80,000lbs.
    That is why you see so few tractors and trailers running super singles.

    The answer is no . you can run aluminium.

    Another reason, if you are running super singles, is they want the axle width to be the same width as if you had regular duals. If you are ordering a new trailer you can get axles that are wider and built for them. If you are doing a retrofit you must use spacers and then it is harder on your wheel bearings.
