Really? that is funny, they want a driver with a clean record, And can only afford to pay $10.00 an hour. What a Joke! I'm not going to waste my time!

$10/hr is the starting rate, keyword is START. after the first year, you get a nickel raise! Leap for joy, we are rolling in money!
You know, you hear a bunch of bad press about the mega carriers in how they treat drivers. And people will recommend rookies to go and look for smaller fleets. Well, most of the time, working for the big fleets is like a comedy. Working for the company that has 1-3 trucks can be a hellish nightmare. I've seen these slum lord companies pay drivers so cheaply where two drivers run all week, and have to split $300! Think about it...2 drivers, TWO, work all week and both of them together won't make what a rookie in orientation makes. They wind up in extreme poverty. The owners wife's full time job is extreme bean counting.Arkansas Frost and Charli Girl Thank this. -
Sad part some one will take it

$10/hr in Southern California?
-
Yeah.. that doesn't even pay for a happy meal down there.. much less a pair of skivvies, jeans and a shirt to wear while driving for said wage. They should attach a form for government assistance along with their application.

Those adds are always run, and sadly will always have takers. ..

I'll do it for a year to get experience...

Yep. See it all the time around here, as well. Small companies aren't always all they're cracked up to be. I've driven for the biggest, and the smallest. The advantage of the bigger carriers? Regular paychecks. I like getting paid on a weekly basis. I have yet to experience any advantage in working for small "mom and pop" outfits.
