I figured as long as i don't dry start the engine and suck in air into the fuel system. And primer it before starting it it'll be fine. I talked to another guy that swore it was too hard and that i should pay instead. Doesn't look to hard to me. What do you fellows think?
Have any of you guys changed your own fuel filters on a dd15?

Piece of cake. I've done it several times. Do them in order of the contained instructions. Then prime the heck out of it, 250 times on the priming pump at least.
When you attempt to start, it may or may not catch. If it does you are good to go. But if not, I only crank for a couple of seconds at most. Then get out and prime again at least 250 times, although you may start to feel some resistance as the fuel comes up keep priming. Give it another attempt, usually goes at this point but may require one more round.
The last time I did it I primed the heck out of that plunger about 450 times and it started on the first attempt.
The big thing is when you attempt to start it is either going to start immediately or you stop cranking, get out and prime it a LOT all over again.
It's actually pretty simple, it's just kind of monotonous pumping that little primer plunger so many dang times.mhyn and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -

dd15 fuel filter system is developed by sadomasochist euro idiots. davco is doing same thing and no need to pump it 300-450 times. i have davco installed before main filters. the davco element is 7 micron. after 200k miles i change the main filters and they look like brand new.
Bnrdestiny, uncleal13 and RavenRabbit Thank this. -
