Haven't read it, but it's cheaper at Amazon and there are 19 reviews.

I bought it thinking I was going to need something to read out on the road.

I'm less than satisfied with the purchase.

If it cost $10 I might recommend it to someone who knew absolutely nothing about trucking.

For anybody who's gone to CDL school or spent a couple hours reading this forum, it's just not worth the price tag.

I recommend Harry Gorge's book on trucking. He's been a driver, O/O and a Safety Man. Very good read for Newbies (and Veterans).

I just skimmed Gorge's book (Amazon's "Look Inside" feature is great!). It looks pretty good and it's $10 less than "Bumper to Bumper." I'd buy it.

And...I recommend Kindle. I have the older black and white version...my wife and daughter both have the color "Fire" which is nice because it's backlit. I have about 20 books on mine and it's no where near capacity. Plus, Kindle books are much cheaper!

I've also got the older B&W version. The Fire--and all the Fires/iPads/Nooks to come
--are the wave of the future. I'm old enough to be amazed by all this hi-tech gadgetry! I remember when the Dick Tracy wrist radio seemed impossibly futuristic.

+1 on the price of a good read. And if it's not so good, well, it didn't cost much!

Not sure how far back this goes, but KGO used to have a lunchtime interview series.
I think they broadcast from the Mark Hopkins. There was always the sound of silverware and glasses in the background. How about Don Sherwood and Al "Jazzbo" Collins, both on KSFO? Collins was seriously overweight and he used to park in the Muni bus stop right outside Swensen's Ice Cream, squeeze himself out of his red TR3, then waddle in for a pint or a quart--or both. I scooped a lot of ice cream for him. Great guy.
