I don't work with trucking companies with religious names. Religious people are fine, but a religious name is 100% a dead give away that you're a scumbag. Sorry to all those I'm sure I just offended... But I have enough experience with this specific rule that I almost never violate it. Every time I do I end up regretting it.
Basically the New Testament says that you're not supposed to do good deeds to get the credit for it. Naming your company 'Jesus Trucking' is a deliberate attempt to get credit in business for your religious affiliations. So the very name of your trucking company is a minor sin, and you're trying to claim credit for your strong religion. Does not compute. And sure enough I've done 10-15 one off loads with religiously named trucking companies and at least 50% of them have gone hilariously sideways.
The name is all I'd need to hard pass... Unless they are based somewhere called Christian Valley, in which case none of the above applies.
EDIT: Oh boy. You want to haul loads for a broker whose MC starts with a 9, an over the top christian name, with less than the standard amount of insurance. I don't care how much they are offering to pay you this is just a bad idea. The insurance thing only matters because it's a sign they are trying to cut corners to save money. Combine that with their newness and I'd say it's unlikely that they ever pay you.Last edited: Feb 11, 2017

I agree 100% @boredsocial anytime I ran across someone in this industry loudly touting and proclaiming their Christianity they have always ended up being a crook. The immediate assumption is supposed to be that these are good people (in a business full of sharks and bad people) and therefore you can let your guard down. Of course sometimes real decent people fall for that ruse.

You get to see these kinds of for profit Christians a lot when you spend enough time at church. I've seen lots of people who come to church six nights a week in an attempt to sell their fellow members of the congregation stuff. There's a reason why the only scene in the New Testament where Jesus turns into an action hero is kicking these people's #####.
Just one of the many things that makes being religious extra difficult for me. It wasn't for lack of trying. I disappointed my family on such a deep level with my lack of faith that it was a real burden for me when I was younger.
Still one of my major pet peeves seeing people use someone elses faith against them. You wanna see me rage? Take me to a Christian novelty store and watch me get incredibly pissed that an entire business model is selling Chinese made plastic idols at a 95% profit margin.p608 and passingthru69 Thank this. -

Also I like those companies that have American, or US, USA, in their names, and when you call them it's hard to understand their English
